New KDVA Senior Enlisted Council Formed by Board of Directors

주한미군 전우회 이사회 선임 부사관 자문위원회 창설

The Korea Defense Veterans Association (KDVA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the activation of a Senior Enlisted Council (SEC) on December 14, 2022, to communicate to the Board of Directors on behalf of the largest group of Korea Defense Veterans – those who served in the enlisted ranks of the United States and the Republic of Korea.

주한미군 전우회(KDVA)는 2022년 12월 14일 주한미군으로 복무한 부사관들의 의견과 입장을 이사회에 전달하기 위해 선임 부사관 자문위원회를 창설했습니다. 이를 통해 주한미군 전우회의 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 부사관들의 목소리를 이사회에 보다 쉽게 전달할 수 있게 되었습니다.

The Council will be chaired by Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Steven Payton, U.S. Army, who is also on the KDVA Board of Directors.  Before retiring from the U.S. Army, Payton served as the Senior Enlisted Leader in Korea for the United Nations Command / ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command / U.S. Forces Korea.  Joining him are five other distinguished senior enlisted Korea Defense Veterans:

해당 위원회의 위원장은 주한미군 전우회의 이사회 임원인 미 육군 스티븐 페이튼 주임원사 (예)가 맡게 될 것입니다. 미 육군에서 전역하기 전, 페이튼 주임원사는 유엔사령부/한미연합사령부/주한미군사령부의 선임부사관 지휘관으로서 복무했습니다. 페이튼 주임원사가 합류함으로써 대한민국에서 복무했던 5명의 각기 다른 선임부사관 출신들로 위원회를 구성하게 되었습니다.

• Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Lee, Gil Ho, Republic of Korea Army, who served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Combined (ROK-U.S.) Ground Component Command

대한민국 육군 이길호 주임원사(예), 전 한미연합지상군구성군사령부 주임원사 복무

• Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Scott Lumpkin, U.S. Air Force, who served as the Command Chief Master Sergeant and Senior Enlisted Leader of 7^th Air Force and the Combined (ROK-U.S.) Air Component Command

미 공군 스콧 럼프킨 주임원사 (예), 전 미 7공군 및 연합공군구성군사령부 주임원사 복무

• Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Rick Merritt, U.S. Army, who served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Eighth Army in Korea

미 육군 릭 메릿 주임원사 (예), 전 주한 미 8군 주임원사

• Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Mario Terranes, U.S. Army, who served as Commandant of the Eighth Army NCO Academy

미 육군 마리오 테레나스 주임원사 (예), 전 미 8군 부사관학교장

• Command Sergeant Major Julie Guerra, U.S. Army, a former Command Sergeant Major of the Korea-based and focused 501st Military Intelligence Brigade. CSM Guerra will join the KDVA Senior Enlisted Council after her retirement from the U.S. Army.  She currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Intelligence.

미 육군 줄리 게라 주임원사, 대한민국 주둔 미 육군 501 군사정보여단 전임 주임원사

게라 주임원사는 전역을 마치는대로 전우회 선임자문위원회에 합류할 예정입니다. 게라주임원사는 현재 미 육군 군사정보 부참모부장의 선임부사관 고문으로 복무중입니다.

General (Ret.) Vincent K. Brooks, Chairman and President of KDVA said, “This Council, comprised of some of the most accomplished Enlisted men and women who have served in Korea, will give the Board clearer insights into what is needed to support the membership of the Korea Defense Veterans Association with programs, education, support, communication, and family support.  They reflect the best and brightest members of our population of Veterans, and we are grateful for their willingness to serve in this capacity.”

주한미군 전우회 이사장 및 회장 빈센트 K. 브룩스 대장(예)은 “주한미군 및 한국군 중 가장 뛰어난 부사관 출신 인사들로 구성된 이번 위원회는 주한미군 전우회의 다양한 활동들을 위해 필요한 것들이 무엇인지에 대해 더 확실한 통찰력을 제공할 것입니다. 그들은 우리 회원들 중에서 가장 뛰어나고 유능한 인재들을 대표합니다. 우리는 그들이 기꺼이 이 자문위원회를 위해 근무하려는 의지에 감사를 표합니다”라고 언급했습니다.

KDVA is very excited about this initial group of senior enlisted leaders, and we look forward to adding other members of all services from both the ROK and U.S. militaries.

주한미군 전우회는 선임부사관들로 구성된 초대위원회를 구성한 것에 대하여 매우 기쁘며 한국과 미국에서 복무했던 다른 선임부사관들도 더 많이 합류할 수 있기를 기대합니다.
