Command Sergeant Major retired Diahann J. White is a Soldier for Life who dedicated 30 years of active honorable service in support of US Army Medicine and Department of Defense domestic and global operations. Throughout her career she held diverse positions concluding with executive leadership roles within the nation’s most complex organizations.

She joined the Army in 1989 as a Combat Medic before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She has held various leadership positions including Senior Clinical NCO, Detachment Sergeant, and Command Sergeant Major. CSM (R) White’s leadership was instrumental in cultivating and synchronizing multinational partnerships and operations. Her career culminating assignments were the Hospital Command Sergeant Major at the121st Combat Support Hospital/Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital and the G5 Sergeant Major at the United States Forces Korea Headquarters.

Her distinguished service accolades include the Legion of Merit (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6 OLC), Korean Defense Service Medal, Volunteer Service Medal w/bronze star and a deployment in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. She is a member of the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit and a recipient of the Yellow Rose of Texas.

In addition to her military achievements, CSM (R) White is committed to ongoing education, holding a Master of Science degree in Public Health, along with undergraduate degrees in Human and Community Services and Early Childhood Education.

Beyond her military and academic endeavors, CSM (R) White is a certified community educator and volunteer. She holds certifications in key areas, serving actively as a certified Doula, Child Passenger Safety Technician, and Long-term Care Ombudsman for the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), dedicating her time to improving lifestyles. As a lifetime Girl Scout, she contributes as a member of the Volunteer Action Committee for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas.

CSM (R) White also plays a pivotal role in the professional community, serving as an executive mentor for the Army Office of the Surgeon General and participating in various Army Medical Command activities. Additionally, she serves as the administrator for the Order of Military Medical Merit and contributes as a member of the senior enlisted council for the Korean Defense Veterans Association (KDVA).

Diahann is married to her husband of 26 years, LTC (Ret) Frederick D. White. They have two daughters: Jessica an alum of International University, Bad Honnef, Germany and Jennifer a senior at Louisiana State University.
