On August 27, 2026, Korea Defense Veterans Association (KDVA) President Gen. (Ret.) Robert B. Abrams joined KUSAF President Gen. (Ret.) Leem Ho Young, SK hynix Chief Investment Officer Chul Min Yoon, and SK SUPEX Council Vice Chairman Lee Hyung-hee for the Veterans Employment Partnership Ceremony at the SK hynix groundbreaking event in West Lafayette, Indiana.
A key focus of the ceremony was expanding career opportunities for those who have served in the Republic of Korea through USFKJobs.com—a platform connecting Korea Defense Veterans with employers who recognize the value of their military service, leadership, experience, and connection to the ROK-U.S. Alliance.
Through its partnership with the United States Forces Korea Employment Program and USFKJobs.com, SK hynix will provide employment opportunities for Veterans who have served in Korea, helping translate their service into meaningful civilian careers.
The partnership was announced as SK hynix, the State of Indiana, and Purdue University celebrated the official start of construction on the company’s Advanced Packaging and R&D Hub. Under the theme “Powering America’s AI Leadership,” the historic event highlighted a shared commitment to semiconductor innovation, advanced manufacturing, and workforce development in the United States.
More than 500 guests attended, including U.S. and Republic of Korea government representatives, AI and semiconductor industry leaders, and Korean War and Korea Defense Veterans.
The initiative demonstrates that the ROK-U.S. Alliance is not only about our shared defense—it is also about taking care of those who served the Alliance and creating opportunities for their future.
