Colonel Bruce R. “Rocky” Harder (USMC, Retired), is the representative from the Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA) to the KDVA Board of Directors.  In May 1969, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.  As an infantry platoon commander with the First Marine Division, he served his first tour in Vietnam, where he participated in many combat operations in the area around DaNang. On his second tour to Vietnam, he served as the intelligence officer for Marine Fighter/Attack Squadron 333 aboard the aircraft carrier America.  Upon retiring as a Colonel in 1998, he served as the Director, National Security and Foreign Affairs for the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW).  In this position, he traveled throughout Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, Central America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Russia to develop national security and POW/MIA positions for the VFW.  From August 2002 until July 2015, he served as a senior policy and strategic planning analyst responsible for developing policy positions for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA).
